Perfect base for exploring Valetta and St Julien’s bay. The room was lovely having a sea view, staff so helpful & friendly, delicious buffet breakfast with everything you could wish for to fill you up for a day of sightseeing

The hotel is ideally located for local shops, restaurants and bars. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The bedrooms are modern but the downstairs areas could do with a lick of paint.

God fin frukostbuffé, förstår inte varför folk klagat på den. Det enda som hade varit trevligt där är om den legat ovan jord, det hade varit trevligt att kunna titta ut genom något fönster när man åt frukost :) Trevlig hjälpsam personal, fina rum mysig pool och mysig liten ”bar/cafe-del”. Väldigt långsamma hissar dock.

The staff were very helpful and incredibly friendly. We stayed in the penthouse, and the only things we felt were missing were a parasol and a way to dim or turn off the lights in the evening. The breakfast was excellent, though sometimes the plate was cleared away before we’d even finished the last bite, which felt a bit rushed. I can highly recommend this place!

Location of this hotel was great. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We received a welcome drink each, which was a glass of prosecco, a complimentary bottle of water, bottle of wine, snacks, bathrobe and slippers! The quality of the buffet breakfast was great and again, the staff were very attentive and all work very hard. The cafe/bar is very good value. The room (seaview) was a good size and clean enough. We also had a mini fridge in our room which was much appreciated for storong bottles of water etc. I would say the hotel is a bit dated. The air conditioning is SO noisy but better than no air conditioning and the sound proofing throughout is not great at all. We did find the beds to be comfortable, although my husband (6feet) found the bed to be too short. I found when we arrived there was a musty/blocked drain smell which affected my sinuses but this cleared after the first day. The bathroom was fairly modern but the furniture in the room is heavy, noisy and dated. I would stay here again as the pros outweighed the cons and overall we did enjoy our stay, but I also sleep with ear plugs in which I'd recommend for anyone staying here.

For years we have stayed in either the Preluna or the Plaza hotel. Bringing groups over from the UK for diving. I want to thank all the staff at the Diplomat for there excellent service and top hospitality during our stay. I will definitely be coming back in 2027 to the Diplomat. And bringing guests with us.

The location is wonderful, right across the street from the ocean. Friendly staff, great breakfast, lovely pool. Complimentary wine, snacks, and water in the room, along with bathrobes and slippers! There is also a bar upstairs by the pool which serves food throughout the day and has entertainment several nights a week. A great hotel and would definitely stay again!
