We stayed at the hotel to attend an evening wedding reception.
The hotel is a little tired. The room was comfortable enough, but everything felt a little outdated and didn't feel fresh and clean.
The public areas were well presented and the hotel was quite cozy.
The breakfast was disappointing. The bacon was very undercooked and covered with white residue and very fatty. It looked unappetising and tastes even worse than it looked. It was quite busy at breakfast and there wasn't adequate supplies of things like hash browns, eggs and beans. This meant that people were standing around waiting for the dishes to be re-stocked, which blocked other areas were food could be accessed.
My wife, who has a gluten intolerance wasn't able to eat much, due the sausages containing wheat. Most good quality sausages don't contain wheat, but the cheaper ones do and again, these were undercooked.
This was my second stay at this hotel, the first was more than 20 years ago when it was still fresh. It could be a great hotel, but it needs managing well. It seemed understaffed and waiting times at the bar were unacceptable. This was due to understaffing.
