A beautiful hotel, but unfortunately we encountered several issues during our stay. We spent three nights at Villa Dagmar, and only on the last evening did we finally receive a key card that worked for our room. For a couple of days, we had to go more than 10 times to ask someone to open our door or inquire when the problem would be fixed. On the very first evening, we asked if we could switch to a room with a functioning key before unpacking our luggage. We were told that we couldn’t switch, as the key issue affected almost all rooms. However, the next staff member on duty accidentally mentioned that the problem only existed in two room (one of was ours)
A kind gesture, for which we are grateful, was that the hotel compensated the inconvenience with complimentary breakfast and a meal. However, at checkout, we were still charged for the breakfast and had to explain the situation all over again.
The hotel itself was quiet, small, and overall seemed very nice and pleasant and we probably just had bad luck. But we simply would have hoped for the issue to be handled immediately, rather than having to repeatedly ask for help.
It’s also unfortunate that taxis cannot drive up to the front of the hotel (the road is closed to vehicles).
On the positive side, I would praise the hotel restaurant: the food was good, the breakfast was excellent, and it was a great place to go for drinks.
