During my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express, I encountered several issues that significantly affected my overall experience.
Hallway and Elevator Odor: From the moment I arrived, I noticed a very foul smell in the hallways, particularly in the elevator. This odor persisted throughout my stay, creating an unpleasant atmosphere whenever I had to move through the hotel. The source of the smell was unclear, but it was strong enough to cause discomfort.
Room Service: Unfortunately, the room service did not meet the expected standards. While the cleaning personnel did make the bed, they neglected other essential tasks. The bathroom was left uncleaned, trash bins were not emptied, and no fresh towels were provided. This lack of attention to detail was disappointing and fell short of the quality typically associated with the Holiday Inn Express brand.
Communication and Management Response: I made several attempts to contact management at the provided number regarding these issues; however, no one ever answered my calls, and I never received a return call. On one occasion, management did reach out, left a message, but never followed up again. This lack of responsiveness is a prime example of substandard leadership, which inevitably filters down to the employees. It's challenging to expect quality service from staff when there is poor leadership at the helm.
Overall, the issues with the odor, inadequate room service, and lack of management follow-up made my stay less enjoyable
