I think my major concern was the status of the carpet in the room that I was given - the carpet was very stained. I understand that the policy is now to have certain rooms set apart when you are traveling with pets, but when you are given a room where it is obvious dogs have had "accidents" on the carpet your own dogs are drawn to those areas. I travel with my small dogs several times a year and I wish all hotels which allow pets would install vinyl flooring in the rooms so that guests don't have to deal with odors and obvious wear from other animals. In the future, I'm going to make sure that I only stay at hotels with vinyl flooring. Sounds petty but it is a big concern for me. My dogs are very good at using the bathroom outside in designated areas but again, they're only dogs, and they are attracted to evidence of other dogs.
