The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the room itself was a good size with a comfortable bed.
The location is a little further out from the main attractions, so we ended up getting taxis most places. However, they were inexpensive and easy to book online, so this wasn’t a major issue for us.
There were no windows in the room, which made mornings feel a bit enclosed. The main downside for us was the lack of soundproofing. Our room was next to the kitchen and we could hear everything, even small noises like someone stirring a drink. Although the other guests were very considerate, we were woken up frequently, especially when people used the bathroom, and unfortunately didn’t manage to get a full night’s sleep during our stay. It did feel like there wasn’t much privacy because of this.
The bathrooms and kitchen were always clean and it looked like they were mopped regularly. The room appeared clean when we arrived, although our bedding wasn’t changed during the week. We were out most of the time, so cleaning may have taken place while we were out. We did need to use an extra blanket from the wardrobe as the room was quite cold, and it didn’t have a cover, which made us slightly unsure about using it, though that may just be something we’re more used to in the UK.
Overall, the host was kind and the space itself was comfortable, but the noise and lack of soundproofing made it difficult for us to fully relax.
