This hotel was great, we appreciated all the small details. The soaking tubs on the roof were an addition we didn’t expect to love as much as we did. Breakfast was unique, but very good and satisfying. The rooms are nice and well equipped.

So as not to bury the lead, this was an exceptional property. There is so many phenomenal things to say about this property I barely know where to start. The staff was exceptional in all senses of the word. They knew us immediately on sight, were proactive in arranging reservations (upon request) and double checking details. More than that, they were so incredibly kind and warm. The breakfast was a treat unto itself. It was carefully curated with every item being simple but delicious. What really makes the breakfast shine is the setting. It really feels like a slice of life sipping a warm drink and watching the world in Kyoto go by, to say nothing of the lovely rock garden just outside the window. A truly elegant way to start your day. The room and bathroom were both immaculate with great amenities. The bath was particularly luxurious. The beds were extremely comfortable and such a nice treat after a long day on our feet. One under sold aspect too is the triple paned glass. While we can observe our street, you’d never be woken up with all three closed. We woke up each morning recharged for our day, but somewhat sad we had to abandon the comfort of our room. It made our return that much more satisfying. There is more to say but by now I’d hope you understand that Shikikaboku is a true gem. I could not recommend it more highly.

Higashiyama Shikikaboku Was one of the best parts of my vacation. It offered beauty and relaxation after exploring Kyoto all day, which is exactly what I needed. The hotel room had everything we needed to make ourselves feel at home. The staff were the highlight of the stay, they are amazing people. They made sure we were well taken care of and were just genuinely warm and friendly. They were very very helpful and professional. Best hotel experience I’ve had so far! My husband and I enjoyed their healthy breakfast menu as well as the architecture and interior design. We are excited and cannot wait for our next stay at this hotel!

お世話になりました！

初めての滞在でした。 　・ゆったりチェックイン。 　・キッチンの有るお部屋で、夕食を温めたり出来ました。食器等も充実しており非常に便利。　 　・露天風呂が最上階に有りますが、心地良い造りです。真冬はもう少し湯温が高いといいかも。 　・朝食。いつも同じかは分かりませんが、ポークのパテが美味しい！野菜やドレッシングも秀逸。 　滞在中ハプニング連発⁈でしたが、その都度副支配人さまの対応が素晴らしかった。 　車で行かれる方は、周辺駐車場の休日駐車料金にある程度覚悟を！(笑
