Old Annapolis is lovely and the historic inn(s) are very cool. An issue with check in was easily resolved (unacceptable odor in room and was given immediate replacement.)
What I didn't understand and wasn't clear to me were ALL the extra fees. In addition to tax there is a $30 "Historic hotel fee". and in addition to that, it is $40 to park your car at the hotel. Alternative is to park yourself, many blocks away in a public lot. So, in the end, my $125 room booking cost $210. I was pretty surprised, and not in a great way.
Still, the historic town is fantastic, very walkable, and the inn(s) are lovely. So, as long as you catch the VERY high fees and are prepared for the parking, it is a lovely stay.
