Upon checking in, we were given the normal information (what time the bar closes, when breakfast is, when checkout is, WiFi, room key, etc). After we finished breakfast, we were asked for a coupon. We didn’t have one. The staff asked if we were diamond or whatever members - we aren’t - and told us she’d have to bill our room. It was over $30 for the two of us to eat a bowl of oatmeal, 2 small muffins, 2 small scoops of eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of French toast, a small scoop of potatoes, a glass of apple juice and a carton of chocolate milk. When checking out, I explained to the staff we were not informed about the cost when we were checking in. I was told they normally don’t tell people, and because I booked through a third party app, I should have seen that breakfast is not included when I booked. Fine, but I booked this over a month ago - I didn’t remember (and honestly, probably didn’t even look). I have always assumed if breakfast is set up like a buffet, it’s included - especially when there is no sign or anyone indicating otherwise (until it’s too late).
The ironic thing, there is a sign at the desk that says something about “making it right” - that’s laughable at best considering the response I was given.
