Residence Inn by Marriott Munich Ostbahnhof

We (couple) stayed in a family room for 8 nights in August 2020. The room was spacious with kitchen and living areas in additional to the usual bedroom and bathroom. The decor was fresh, modern and pleasing and we felt very comfortable (desk, sofa, chair and bed were all great). The staff were welcoming and helpful and check in/out was quick and easy. There was a breakfast buffet included in our room rate, so we made use of this. There was a bit of everything - cold meats and cheeses, fruit and yoghurt, cereal, bread and pastries and a few hot items e.g. sausages/eggs/pancakes. The buffet items didn't change much, so it's worth trying different things on different days. I would strongly recommend the chocolate croissants! :-) At the moment, due to Covid19, you are required to wear a mask and use disposable gloves (provided) at the buffet. We also used the gym. It was quiet and had a few machines as well as other equipment. The residence is a 5 minute walk from Ostbahnhof where you have connections to S and U bahn and regional trains. Some buses also serve the station. There are currently building works taking place near the residence (seems to be an up and coming area), so the view is limited, however the noise was minimal and didn't affect our sleep. Round the corner from the residence, there are two supermarkets (Lidl, Rewe) and a chemist, which were very convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would consider this property again if we come back to Munich.

Convenient location, lots of free parking in the area, so no need to pay for the overpriced garage parking (at least in early 2020). There's quite a bit of construction nearby, so that may change in the future. Short walk to the Ostbahnhof station. Great breakfast and rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is that there's a strong chemical smell in the gym in the basement. You adjust fairly quickly, but I wasn't really comfortable thinking about how much of whatever it was I was breathing in while running on the treadmill.

We booked a room for three, but upon our arrival at late night, the room was not yet ready.

Amazing staff. The manager and his staff make you feel welcome even if they have to work during the holidays. Great location near public transportation and a wonderful market, bakery, and pharmacy just around the corner for your convenience. Will definitely stay here again.

When I did a search on Google maps to Marienplatz from this hotel, and Google maps suggested it was a 45 minute walk, I was a little concerned that this location would be inconvenient. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the proximity to the Ostbahnhof station made getting anywhere in the city and day trips out of the city convenient. The hotel is new so the rooms were clean. We had a room with a nice large bathtub that I could completely recline in and soak up to my chin. While it was nice and comfortable, the height of the tub wall made it difficult to get in and out of and the fact that the body wash was in a container that was in reach for the shower but not the bath. The hand soap was also in a container that is refilled rather than single use containers. While I applaud the thought of reducing excessive plastic waste products, the hand soap was watered down.

Minus: kein Salz und kein Klarspüler in der Spülmaschine. Bedienungsanleitung für die Mikrowelle wäre von Vorteil. Kein Rührei und nur Äpfel beim Frühstück. Plus: der Rest

Good apartment in good shape and good size. Cleaning could be improved anyway. Underground parking 20€ a bit too high for the area I find. Breakfast with not big choice but good enough. Bad is that very few tables so you need to sit somewhere around the lobby, which is not the best way to start the day

Hotel sehr sauber und es wird viel Wert auf Hygiene (Covid-19 Prävention) gelegt. Hat mir gut gefallen. Parkplätze außerhalb verfügbar.
