Amazing building, friendly staff and a cosy but comfortable room. The transformation from post office into hotel was done with respect for the original features and it's heritage But, the restaurant was really disappointing, and the strange chicken kebab stew they served as the included dinner really was far from the standard we are used to from this chain, and the vegetarian option was even worse. Also clutter, storage and staff clothes were visible to guests both in the restaurant and lobby, which you would not expect in a four star hotel. I think we were just a bit unlucky, and still would not mind giving it another go.

Great for family stay

We are back here again, always enjoy Clarion hotel, service and the food. One motivating factor us to keep coming back to this hotel and other Clarion hotels is kids stay for free, a very family friendly hotel. Other than this, the location is great. Pillows are abit too soft but overall, super good and will come back again.

Nice, affordable and centrally located hotel including Swedish fika, dinner and breakfast. We booked an extra bed, but at arrival there were no extra bed due to "a small room", according to staff. However, an extra bed would easily have fitted the room.

Service was ok, not the worst and not the best, but ok. The thing that I found the most irritating was paying an extra 300sek for my dog which would be fine, but they provide nothing extra for that cost. Other hotels that charge extra for dogs in nearly all cases have water/food bowls a dog bed and sometimes a little bag of dog treats. The hotel was otherwise in good condition and the food was good. I would however probably not stay here again because of the over expensive dog for nothing experience.

Oskarshamn Hotel

We selected this hotel because of its location and positive reviews. We were in the area to visit relatives of my father’s father. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast and fika and dinner were delicious. There is a set menu for dinner, in addition to salad options. Fresh fruit for breakfast was a treat. All staff were friendly and helpful. There were even games, including chess, checkers, dominoes, and others. It was a short walk to the Doderhult Museum. We visited from Michigan, USA.
