My partner and I chose Hotel Colee for our anniversary, drawn by good reviews and beautiful photos. While the reception staff were great, the hotel was clean, and the location was ideal, the experience didn’t live up to expectations.
The hotel needs an update; the rooms felt dark and dated, with much of the property looking worn compared to the polished photos. The rooftop pool was also disappointing, with limited seating (only about 12 chairs) and minimal sunlight—great in theory but not ideal for sunbathing or relaxation.
The attached restaurant, Sister, was a major letdown. Although Google lists its hours as 7am–10pm daily, we were told it wouldn’t open until 4pm on Friday. After waiting an hour, the restaurant finally opened at 4:30pm, only to be met by a rude server with no apology for the delay. The patio seating was so dirty we opted to sit inside. Adding to the frustration, despite being known for cocktails, Sister doesn’t have a cocktail menu. The lack of cleanliness, unprofessional service, and poor communication were disappointing on our first day, and we ultimately decided to leave and dine elsewhere. With so many fantastic dining spots nearby, I would never recommend Sister.
The "Rooftop Bar," Rose & Rye, felt more like a club than a bar, which was unexpected. While fine for a club experience, it should be advertised accurately for guests seeking a more traditional hotel bar.
Overall, this stay didn’t meet the standards of a 4-star, award-winning Autograp
