Where to Shop and What to Buy in Ratchada
Bangkok’s busy Ratchadapisek Road offers plenty for suburban shoppers with its imposing shopping warehouses and malls. Superb MRT subway access means it’s easy to get to. Even though the appeal for tourists here is rather limited, there are places you can check out such as a night bazaar that’s a laidback and local equivalent to Khao San Night Market.
At the lower end of Ratchada, near Phra Ram 9 MRT station, there’s a 4-floor IT mall that’s great for sourcing computer gear. Not far is a 7-floor shopping complex that looks more like a futuristic art gallery than a shopping centre with its sleek curving steel façade.
