What are the highlights of Cerro de la Estrella National Park in Mexico City?
The central feature of Cerro de la Estrella National Park is the archaeological site. It contains remnants of a temple believed to have been built sometime between 100 and 650 CE. The design style suggests heavy Teotihuacan influence, and this is further confirmed by the housing zone ruins, which date from the late classic period.
Aside from the ruins, you can also explore numerous hiking and biking trails throughout the park that are well-maintained and flanked by vibrant green trees. Be sure to stop by some of the lookout points to gaze upon the expansive cityscape below. Small caves are also prominent throughout the park.
