With fresh seafood from the Kii Peninsula, Kumano beef, and excellent vegetables, Shirahama is a must-visit for all foodies. For something new, try the dishes made using locally caught fish such as the longtooth grouper. The local sake and beer are also first-rate.

You have plenty of options to explore here, including seafood restaurants, sushi restaurants, buffets, and izakaya (traditional Japanese-style pubs). If you get tired of Japanese food (unlikely but you never know!), head to a café, pub, or European restaurant for something a little different. Shirahama has uniquely delicious dining experiences to offer, so it's a good idea to arrive hungry!
