- Poco común
Kanrei is a hideaway of a day spa in Miyanoshita at Hakone. Nearby is Jakotsu Gorge, which was formed by the Jakotsu River, one of the tributaries of Hayakawa River.
There’s only 1 open-air bath here, and it can be reserved for 1 hour. From the bathtub you can see a beautiful bamboo forest. The water is colourless and transparent, but there are sometimes tiny yunohana (hot spring mineral deposits) floating in the baths. The spring source is over 60°C, so a small amount of cool water is added. This retro building was renovated from a hospital formerly known as the Kanrei Clinic. This setting is overflowing with the romantic atmosphere of Japan's Taisho era. The tearoom is also unique because it was formerly a surgery room.
