Nara Prefecture Hotels

This is a 10 out of 10. The location at the edge of the forest is spectacular. The service is impeccable. We are vegan and they accommodated us with absolutely delicious meals. It is located just on the outskirts of the Nara Deer Park where you are surrounded by a lovely forest ambience and yet you are just a short hike from the Park and its bustling surrounds. The trail just outside the Ryoken takes you up the mountain. It is simply an awesome place!

I was very happy with the ryokan. It was a great value for its appearance and location.

Very clean and warm. Maybe have some senki sembei in the room to feed the deer would be nice.

The staff went out of their way to not just accommodate our needs but anticipate them. I have stayed at hundreds of lodgings in my life and have never experienced such perfect customer service and hospitality.

Excellent! Would love to stay there again.

I was such a beautiful place to stay! There was plenty of room, and plenty of pillows - rare in Japan! The decoration was very tasteful and welcoming. Staircase was a little narrow, but this is common in Japan and not a fault of the owner. There was only one toilet, which worked fine for our family of 4. Location was fabulous - easily walkable to Nara Park and the train station, and right on a busy walking street full of shopping and food, yet still quiet enough to rest at night. My only...

This property is close to Nara Park and many great restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Asahikan. The hosts were exceptional and made delicious and abundant meals for us, were super friendly and helpful, and gave us many suggestions on things to see and do in the area. We highly recommend Asahikan and definitely would return.

The hotel and room were very clean and functional, the location was excellent, and all the staff were polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable stay.

Location is great. Dinner was super good.

A hidden gem in Nara. We had a great time there. Thank you.

The property seems to be recently updated, it is modern, and clean. The amenity is lacking a few things (for example, it tells the guest to wash dishes and put them away but doesn’t provide a clothe to dry them). Also, the instruction isn’t super clear. The instruction reads to leave the key on the table when checking out (that’s what it says literary in English), when in fact you need to lock and put the key in the lockbox as one example. Also the road to access the property is quite narrow...

We enjoyed our stay immensely. My favorite part was that the deer walk right up to the hotel from Nara park! It is a lovely, clean hotel, and there is a coin washing machine if you need it. The location is close to food areas, also.

From the very first time we arrived in Asuka, on to the house. We were surprised by it's magic. The village is so serene, near by all the amenities we needed from walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and train station. The house itself is absolutely magical. It's like a fairy tail. We arrived right when the autumn color burst out their magnificent red, orange, and gold. This place is even better because the hosts, the elderly couple who take cared of us while we were there were the...

One of the best hotels if stayed in Japan and anywhere. Staff is great and rooms are spacious and clean. There are also several commodities for you to enjoy. Will definitely stay again. Convenient too as it as across Nara Station. Easily accesible to many areas.

Absolutely wonderful inn to stay at (Ryokan), and our favorite stay of a two week Japan trip. It felt like an authentic Japanese experience, while still being very accessible to foreigners like us. The owners are very friendly and attentive right from when you arrive. The rooms are a traditional style with tatami floors. The rooms look out over a small creek so it is very peaceful. They will set up the futon beds for you in the evening. I have a bad back so was a little worried about the...

A wonderful, new hotel in Nara. One of the few high-end hotels there, competing against Nara Hotel. In contrast to the stodgy competitor, JW Marriott is very modern with traditional Japanese aesthetic.
