10/10 Excellent

Great place to stay
Philip, 6-night trip

This large and rambling hotel is on a wooded mountain slope near the Happo-One gondola and quite far from Hakuba Station. It is one of only a few hotels operating during the off-season (late June) and would be bustling with winter sports enthusiasts during the ski season. My visit was quiet and relaxing.

Less expensive and budget friendly. Amenities available like Onsen and table tennis. Laudry is also available. Distance is the disadvantage. It's a little far from the city center although still walking distance.

Unique property and a cozy alpine feel

Stayed here in Spring, which I suspect is a whole different ballgame to Winter. Location was great as we did not have a car. As others note it’s a steep hill to walk up but it’s not long. With many restaurants closed at this time of year having breakfast onsite and the option of buffet dinner at the restaurant was brilliant. The hot baths were great too. The rooms themselves were a little tired and basic however the beds were comfortable and the property was quiet. We did hire a car for 24 hours to get to see the snow monkeys (recommendation for

Good bang for the buck!

Extremely comfortable hotel, very friendly for skiers with free heated storage for boots and gloves, nice heated common areas, excellent breakfast, decent indoor/outdoor baths. And not too expensive. Highly recommended

This is a nice budget hotel. The hotel is a bit outdated, but the room is clean and spacious. Hotel staff are nice and helpful, fluent in English. Good facilities - big lockers for skis/boots, big common area, indoor/outdoor onsen. It is up on the hilly slope. That's the only drawback, but it can still consider as that it is located at a convienent location in Happo One. We were happy to be able to book a room there at last minute (before it is sold out!) - to attend the Happo One Fire Festival.

It's at the hill top, having to drag your luggage would be a difficult task. Likewise for the ski and snowboard. Will have to hike up just to get back to the accoms. Just a poor location other then this, all is pretty decent.
Isaac, 3-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Hotel was situated very close to Happo one, though it was a little bit of an uphill slope going back. Rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious.

Great location with very close (short walk) access to lifts and Adam Gondola. The staff were fantastic- so helpful and obliging. Would highly recommend staying here!

The interior and facilities have a retro charm, but they are well-maintained and clean, so there's no issue. However, the parking lot is adjacent to the building, which made it feel a bit noisy at times.

Value for money stay with bkf n dinner and all you can drink. Close to Happo liftchair but the room is a bit old

Basic standard room. Good hot bath. Snack shop, whole place very old school. Building from 70’s my guess. Well kept up, easy storage for skiing stuff

The room is small and old. Renovation is required. The price included two meal and all you can drink alcohol. Public bath is open aired. Overall, value for money choice.

10/10 Excellent

It was my 1st time in Japan hakuba skiing ! Miki and other staff was super helpful and show great hospitality , love the simple room nothing fancy . The outdoor hot spring was great and buffet style breakfast and dinner ! However, there no shuttles service so either you take taxi from happo terminal bus stop or walk 20min up hill.. It 5min walk down hill to Happo one which is great , but everytime you go back hotel you will have to hike back up again so just a heads up..

4/10 Poor

The property is near the top of the hill with limited road service. It’s a 10 min walk down to the strip and Gondola area. If it’s snowing you will not be able to get a taxi, and there is no Uber in the area. The hotel does not provide a shuttle service or is not part of the Hakuba ski shuttle. There were other issues such as an embarrassing breakfast buffet. The selection was limited and the only thing we could eat was the tiny croissant and miso soup. Even though it was free we ended up walking down to a cafe on the strip. The rooms were kept clean but very dated including the beddings and sheets. The walls of course were quite thin so one night there was someone singing karaoke and on the other side a family with kids banging thins around. The staff were pleasant enough and the ladies at the front desk were helpful but the lack of transportation was the biggest drawback. We had to walk at night to restaurants because taxis couldn’t get there and when we checked out we again couldn’t get transportation to the bus station. We had to load up and walk down to the strip in snowy conditions and from there we got a taxi.
