The Basic Apartment in the annex separate from the actual castle, was really very basic. Especially in terms of cleaning and general maintenance, which was really a disappointment. It smelled like wet dog, The staff was professionally friendly, but did not really seem to enjoy their job. Surroundings were great however, including the park.

Our two teenage daughters, got to live out there princess dreams! Ask reception how to get into the tower - it’s a hike, but the view is amazing! The castle is generally a little rundown (but nothing that ruins the grandeur of this once stately home) Both our rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean! Based on reviews, we had decided not to have dinner at the castle, but there are some cute options near. We did have breakfast and it was excellent, with everything you may need to start the day with a full stomach - we took her out to sit in the gardens. There was a lovely free feeling to being able to roam the property and gardens. If you’re traveling through Fyn, I would add this as a stop (it was our daughter‘s favorite part of the trip)

Furnishing in general rooms were fabulous. Electrical outlets in our room did not work. Person in charge brought new lightbulbs and extension cords. Wiring definite Y needs updating. Our shower had black mold. The biggest issue was guests not allowed to use eleva5or and NO help around to help older Expletive lug bags up 2 flights of stairs. Breakfast was adequate. Not recommended for any one over 50.

Vi var på en 2 dages tur til Faaborg og valgte Hvedholm slotshotel. Ved første øjekast ser det gammelt og slidt ud, men det er virkelig en del af charmen og hotellet er hyggeligt og sætter en tilbage i tiden. Vi havde bestilt uden morgenmad og valgte at tilkøbe for 148 kr. pr. person den første morgen. Morgenmaden bestod af friskbagte boller, hvilket vel også var det eneste gode ved den. Resten var middelmådigt til prisen. På værelset var der lidt nusset i hjørnerne, og vores tv virkede ikke (Det var en defekt boks til tv'et og trods henvendelser i receptionen, blev den ikke fikset eller ombyttet) WI FI er ikke eksisterende og har man TDC var vi heldige at kunne få signal bestemte steder på 2 salen på vores værelse. Heldigvis er WI FI og mobilsignal ikke det hele og trods alt var det en hyggelig ferie på et historisk slotshotel.

Hvedholm slot emmer af historie og charme. Men det stikker i hjertet hvor manglende vedligeholdt slottet og slotsparken fremstår. Værelset var sikkert fint for 20 år siden men står nu slidt og outdated. Fandt et par brugte dametrusser i skabet der ikke var mine. Wi Fi virkede ikke og der var ikke meget hjælp at hente fra receptionen, der kun var i dagtimer og ikke kunne gøre meget andet end konstatere det virkede i receptionen. En mail hvor der blev beklaget men igen henstillet til receptionen der ikke kunne gøre noget. Kan læse i andre anmeldelser og talte med andre gæster hvor det fremgik at wifi ikke virkede. Personalet var ellers søde og venlige. Der manglede generelt en hovedrengøring men decideret ulækkert var det ikke. Morgenmaden var almindelig men heller ikke mere. Vil anbefale at man sparer pengene og tager til Faaborg og får en lækker morgenmad eller brunch i en af de mange lækre og hyggelige caféer eller ved bageren. Hvis du forventer slotslig charme som på billederne bliver du skuffet over den standard og slitage du møder.

Hotellet mangler gennemgående renovering. Der var afskalninger af maling på samtlige paneler - huller i væggene flere steder i værelset. Synlige tegn på mug på badeforhæng . Billederne der bruges ifm annoncering er på ingen måder retvisende. Det bedste råd til evt fremtidige besøgende vil være at finde et andet hotel. Meget ringe oplevelse.
