This was one of the best and most unique hotels we've stay in. Has a lot of character and charm and English speaking staff at check-in. Great location. We got a family bunk room and was perfect for 2 adults + 2 tall teens. If you like historical charm with modern finishes, this is your place. It was our family's favorite hotel in our European trip.

Only some of the rooms have air conditioning (for cooling). The layout in my room was a bit odd. Water from shower often makes it outside the shower. Hallways can be quite cramped. Free bike rental for the day is available. Try the green beans in the restaurant.

Beautifully designed hotel and staff were very nice, the bar was great too! The rooms were well designed, but I ended up in one of the basement rooms which was really dark and right on the street. It meant I couldn’t open the curtains without risk of people being able to look directly into the room which wasn’t great as it felt very dark and was loud being right on the street. I would have expected a cooked breakfast at the Hoxton so that was a bit of a disappointment. All in all it’s a nice hotel but I’m not sure it’s worth the price.

Only thing not amazing about this hotel was the location. And that turned out to be not as bad as we initially thought. Terrific staff, lovely accommodation (very comfortable and stylish). We had a room on the 5th floor. It was a hot day. It was also hot in the room. Very hot. A Dyson-fan was working overtime, but made more sound than anything else. Parking with charging was nice. The food was amazing, we had dinner in the garden. Front of house was great. All in all. A Classic Hoxton experience, with their lovely design and fun details. But the room was blistering hot. Stay away from that floor during summer.

What a unique hotel. We loved our stay at the Hoxton Lloyd. A little outside of the main areas of central Amsterdam, but close to a train that takes you there in 15-20 mins. We loved the history of it, and all the funky details and decor inside. We had a beautiful view of a canal, and enjoyed the bar/restaurant downstairs. The bunkbeds were perfect for the kids, and we used the supermarket and coffee shop across the street a couple of times. They also have complimentary bikes available, and decent restaurant options within walking distance. Also the photo booth in the lobby was a hit. Highly recommend if you don't mind staying outside of the Amsterdam core.
