Staff are absolutely brilliant and very friendly. Restaurant is lovely nice homely feel the accommodation needs a refurbishing. Shower trickles water, curtains need replacing holes in them, decor needs updating, new carpets get rid of the damp, mouldy smell. Genuinely a lovely place great location.

What a wonderful, relaxing stay. The perfect sized room for my friend and I. We attended a tribute night at the OEC and were delighted to find that it was a 5 minute walk down the road. The hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride from the train station. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even allowing us to check into the room early. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend staying here! Will be booking again for sure!

We stayed for 3 days, excellent service by all staff, the room was clean and a good size. Good selection for breakfast and bright clean dining area. A bonus was the free parking and after a short walk catch a tram into the city centre. On the days we stayed the bar and restaurant were not open.

Another lovely stay at the Garrison Hotel. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and welcoming. A nice touch was to have hot chocolate along side the tea and coffee. Breakfast was delicious. The lovely lady who ran the breakfast room was very friendly and welcoming and we didn’t wait long for an impressive cooked breakfast. We won’t hesitate to stay again

Lovely staff all very helpful, room was comfortable although needs a little love. One thing to note is the bar and restaurant are now closed in the week so it’s either a walk to the local Wetherspoons which wasn’t great when I tried it( dirty plates and glasses on 75% of tables) or a £10 uber ride into the Centre.

Loved it, quirky hotel, not what I expected but absolutely loved it. The place is clean and tidy, a little dated in places but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. There's limited parking, but the bed was really comfy and the surroundings excellent. I'll be back

When booking the hotel there was nothing to indicate there were no restaurant or bar facilities available Monday to Thursday, had we known that we would not have booked to stay. The receptionist however did give us a list showing bars and restaurants nearby. The tv in the room was a waste of space as programs were being streamed and the reception was useless.

Good value accommodation in the Hillsborough area. The Restaurant and pub were not open on the Thursday I stayed and I did have difficulty finding somewhere nearby to eat as I am a vegetarian.

Part of the reason I book hotels is so I can get a meal and drink with little fuss. On arrival I was informed it was closed Monday to Thursday. Great location for town centre and hotel architecture is interesting. Staff were all pleasant. Rooms are dated but clean. Room lighting isn't great. Hotel is fine but feels like a Motel more than a hotel.

The accommodation was OK for the price we paid but the "hotel" is not as described which lines the customer up for instant disappointment. There is no bar or restaurant during weekdays and parking is limited. The accommodation is not in a hotel but is maisonette style terraced chalets (akin to Butlins) with breakfast on site. If it had been properly described it wouldn't have been so bad, but we were looking forward to the oldy worldly "gentry" experience in the hotel. This seems to be reserved for wedding parties/events on the weekend only. The garden view was a stone wall about a metre from your door I think the description of this venue should be amended to prevent further complaints about the listing being misleading

Hotel looked great online and like a 1970s holiday camp when we arrived with metal staircases and chalet rooms We also had a lovely guest decide to smash the room up under us and threaten everyone police called not 1 member of staff checking anyone was ok Breakfast was awful all in all never to be repeated again

I initially booked another hotel, but then cancelled when they emailed me to tell me their restaurant was closed. I arrived at the Garrison which I have stayed at several times before only to find out that the bar and restaurant are closed Monday to Thursday! They still served breakfast !

Great room and absolutely lovely hotel. Breakfast is nice but have to pay extra for a full English. Will definitely be staying here again!
