I enjoy staying at this hotel in Sofia about once a year for 3–4 nights. There are many reasons for this; the main ones—though not necessarily in order of importance—are: The casino, which is an integral part of the hotel. The hotel's location, which puts good restaurants, shopping centers, parks, historical sites, and more within walking distance. I stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis and can attest that the breakfast is rich and varied. The hotel staff is service-oriented and helpful. The hotel also features a pool and a spa; while I haven't used them myself, I’ve heard positive feedback from those who have.

My room was spacious with everything I needed including comfortable bed, and opening windows, though it was slightly rundown. Meets 4.5 star by Western standards. This is a big hotel and casino complex with indoor pool, spa treatments, steam rooms and the lot, and at a much, much cheaper rate than I expected in late spring, you get a but of all the good stuff, including pretty extensive full buffet breakfast. I'm pretty tall and the front of house manager upgraded me on arrival, the doorman recognised me on my way back in. You'll stay in some more luxurious places from time-to-time, I'm sure, but the value for money at this perfectly good level was hard to beat and I booked extra nights.
