We booked this hotel based on the great reviews. I wished we had stayed elsewhere.
The property is a former Red Lion (or similar), great in its heyday, and shows its age. It is, very large, with multiple floors and good elevators and luggage carts. It is clean, the staff are very nice (especially the young person who checked us out at our departure.)
The breakfast is decent, with cereal and hot breakfast sandwiches, some yogurt choices, a few typical hot dish choices, but very limited fresh fruit choices.
The rooms are clean, have good amenities, and there are no terrible smells…and that is the end of the good bits. The mattresses and pillows are beyond awful. Truly terrible. My husband and I had to sleep in separate beds due to the springs poking through…visibly poking through…and my rolling into him constantly during the night. The pillows were rock hard. No adjustable fill, no feathers, just solid hard, old pillows. To make matters worse, they had hard pillow cover locks on them!! Hard plastic zipper locks on pillows!! OMG!! Neither of us slept more than 3 hours. It was horrible. Horrible.
Hey, Management: Room 419 needs new mattresses and pillows. That was the absolute worst night’s “sleep” we’ve had in our entire 2-week trip. Based upon that, I cannot recommend this place for anyone. A good breakfast doesn’t make up for a sleepless night.
