Central location, not far from the railway station, Kamppi shopping center just right next to the hotel. Calm, good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Only thing I was missing was coffee machine, water kettle for tea making. Minibar with drinks was unnecessary, I see it less and less in hotels these days.

The location was great for what we needed. The room was comfortable and pretty well appointed. It would have been better with the addition of hand cream to the other amenities. The lift was good when you figured out how and when to use the room key to get to your destination. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, delicious and plentiful. No one hurries you. The coffee is traditionally Finnish and top notch. We had stayed there previously and will not hesitate to stay there again.

A standard hotel in its class. Very well located. Staff efficient. Rooms spacious and clean. Breakfast very expensive - though that is the way it is these days. Convenient nearby shops mean you don’t have to take breakfast in the hotel. Would stay again unless looking for a bit more character.

Busy area in Helsinki. Close to a lot of good shops and restaurants. A lot of stuff for children in walking distance, playgrounds, parks, moomin shops, museums, sea life and linnanmaki (3km). Friendly staff, good breakfast, family rooms were quite big. Poor water pressure in the shower. Great playroom for children in first floor!

Room was clean. Staff offered me an upgrade when I checked in which I took as I was there for a week. Breakfast had some good vegan options. If you take the lift down to 2B you’re conveniently in Kamppi shopping centre which is very handy.

Good things: the hotel was very central and had a tram stop right in front. The facilities were beautiful and the breakfast was outstanding. I was happy to see plenty of vegetarian options, and most foods being lactose free. Less good: it became very complicated with the breakfast booking as the personnel made several mistakes when charging it. Also the bathroom cleanliness could be improved. Some tiles were moldy and the bathroom door had several spots.

Hotel was very close to the train station which was convenient and tram station stop directly outside the front of the hotel which is good for getting around during the day.....not so good if you are trying to sleep. It was very warm in the room so had to sleep with window open until the noise either from drunks out or trams noise became too much. Sauna was available on lower lever but only at certain times, only found this out from reviews online not from staff. It's very close to the bus station which is good as lots of shops and supermarkets but be warned we were followed a few times so keep you valuables close keep your eyes peeled. The area around the hotel didn't feel safe at times I'm afraid to say.

Pluses - The Scandic is conveniently located in a walkable area. The staff were warm and welcoming; happy to answer questions and provide support. The breakfast buffet is excellent and one of the best attributes of the hotel. The sauna is also a top asset that we enjoyed several times during our stay. It was nice to have a gym available too. Minuses - Amenities in the room were missed like a coffee maker and lotion. Mold in the shower was unappealing. Unfortunately the rooftop bar that was promoted wasn’t open and doesn’t open until late spring and summer.

The location isn’t fantastic, there are better places to stay for similar prices. The majority of staff seemed apathetic and unhappy - it was disheartening considering the price of the hotel to not even get a smile. The lighting situation is horrendous in the rooms, they are so complicated to figure out that a guide has had to be printed and included in the room. The lights and power in my room ceased to work after the first night (lights were stuck on and all PowerPoints were off) and nobody was available to able to come and look until the following day - thankfully I was able to move rooms instead of waiting. The bar is incredibly expensive, as is the wellness/spa area and services provided. Frankly my friends and I, who had paid significant amounts of money to stay at what we thought would be a nice hotel, left disappointed and refused to spend any extra money on additional services (such as breakfast, drinks, etc) and instead spent our money elsewhere. The aesthetic of the rooms is really nice, they are well styled and my room was cleaned well.
