This is a very welcome hotel which is conveniently located a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute tram ride from the city centre. The street it is located on is a pleasant working street, containing plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. The other end of the street, Chlodwigplatz is a busy hive of activity which is well worth visiting on foot. The tram network will get you everywhere in any event.

Nice, clean hotel similar to other Mercure chains in other countries. Not far from Cathedral, ~ 15mins by walking. Convenient location if you want to walk/bike by the river. We didn't experience breakfast, as it was a bit expensive though (24euro per person in July2026). We decided to have other options in city with same/less price. Overall nice experience, nothing to complain.

A lot of more central hotels were described as 'noisy' and this one wasn't, although it is on two main roads and a tram station We walked from the main train station which took 30-40mins (and you could get public transport, it was reliable when we used it) but you walk through the centre with all the bars and the cathedral Hotel was clean and staff were friendly
