This is a large resort style hotel with good facilities that is popular with families at the weekend. Rooms are clean and well maintained and beds very comfortable. Perched on the beach a short drive from a number of attractions the location at the north of Penang Island is slightly less developed than elsewhere on the island. The front of house staff are friendly and helpful. As a base to explore the Angsana is ideal.

To be honest, it was a bit disappointing. The resort is beautiful and when it opened it was probably top notch. But it isn’t being looked after to the standard it aspires to. The room wasn’t close to being clean enough for the hotel grade and the price paid. There were surface things like children’s hand prints on doors and windows but longer term issue like black mold in the shower and the high windows looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months. I’ve worked in a hotel and know that the cleaning staff often have the hardest job with too little time and the lowest wages, so for me this is a failure of management. I’ve stayed in 3 hotels during my stay in Malaysia and paid the most for this one. The other 2 have exceeded my expectations, but this one disappointed. As it was my 40th Birthday I paid to upgrade to a better room but it wasn’t worth the money. It’s sad because it could be an incredible place but for me, having a clean room is one of the most important things I need from a hotel and this place just felt a bit grubby.

Great hotel for a realx vacation at the beach
Great hotel for a relax staycation at the beach. We had a room with a private balcony overlooking the beach. The breakfast buffet was really good, with a great variety of options. The infinity pool is a must. We didn't really go to the beach or swim in the ocean because of jellyfish. The staff was super friendly and always available to help us and answer our questions. We really enjoyed our stay and will definetely come back.

Fantasic!...Beauriful sea view from a fab room.. Friendly service with excellant.lovely staff... peaceful and scenic..away from main tourist area..but easy to travel and see Penang..bus stop outside the hotel.or grab taxis..amazing massively diverse buffet breakfast .. Able to order food in room..see sunset at hotel restauarant .hotel food really nice ..spend the evening in Georgetown.or walk into nearby Taluk Bahang..for dinner at Tai Tong..also a cat rescue beach nearby..loved Georgetown.the spice gardens..Habitat walk and train to Penang Hill..and friendly people of Penang.with ethnic mix and history og Georgetown..saw monkeys at the Botanic Gardens..and days by the pool. Best place we have stayed!.Highly recommended

I wanted to be at a place by the beach and with the view and quietness but still be able to get to the city when I wanted. Angsana gave me just that. Breakfast buffet was amazing. So many choices but I limited myself so I can eat big lunch too lol as its Penang we are talking about!! The room was superb, with two housekeeping daily, extremely clean and everything feels new and luxurious. Well worth the amount paid!!! Will surely go there again in the future if I ever holiday in Penang again.
