I’ll start by saying that check-in was the only bright spot of my stay. The receptionist was friendly, and I had high hopes as I made my way to the room. However, things quickly spiraled downhill.
First impression? Leaves. Everywhere. The parking lot and drifted walls under the AC units looked like the aftermath of a leaf tornado. It’s fall—understandable? No, It’s late December! along with the un-swept area away from the office.Inside the room, it appeared clean at first glance, but then I noticed the beds. No blankets on top, just tucked under the sheets. Why? To conceal cigarette burn holes! Cozy. A conference and meeting center with No ice and only one bar Wi-Fi.Then came the saga of the missing TV remote. I was told one would arrive “shortly.” Three hours and three requests later, I finally received it, only to discover that using the TV required me to provide my email and credit card details. Seriously? After explaining this to the front desk, they assured me someone would come to reset the device. No one ever came.Day two brought the same issue, a new person at the desk, the same promise, and still no help.Their reasoning? “It was a busy day” as she walked off with her clipboard. The last night, a LARGE group of non-English speaking guests located at the end of the unit decided to turn the parking lot into a club, complete with two bass-bumping trucks. Sleep came later when the blue lights arrived. Where was the management.
