The owner and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They, thankfully, held my luggage before check in and well after check out so I could maximize my sightseeing in Naoshima. Front desk was very helpful in switching my reservation from a smoking to a non-smoking room. Rooms were decently clean, and the location is conveniently located near Okayama station.
I stayed at the Kyoto Via Inn before and had great impression, so I booked the Okayama Via Inn as well. However, the hotel is convenient as it is connected to the train station but there's a restroom smell in my room and full of black mold around the window that makes me feel quite uncomfortable.
Stayed two nights and it was perfect for me. The breakfast wasn't anything special, and the hotel itself is showing some wear and tear, but the room was clean and comfy and just what you'd expect from this kind of hotel.
