"First time staying at a Holiday Inn Express and it was amazing! We stayed for the Ed Sheeran concert and upon arrival we were gifted a brown bag with water, biscuits & a Kit Kat, so thoughtful. The bar and food were great and reasonably priced. The room was big, clean and beds were very comfy. "

"We enjoyed a lovely quiet couple's getaway while we went to the Ed Sheeran concert in Ipswich. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very quiet and relaxing.
The town centre is in walking distance and has some really nice and reasonably priced cafes. There is a short walk to a pebble beach and beautiful gardens. "

"This was my second visit. I love staying here. The staff are most welcoming, as are the locals. The hospitality, food and beers are all excellent. The hotel building, bar, restaurant and grounds are most pleasant. The cuisine was served quickly and is very tasty. It is in a lovely place, which is quiet and also not too far from the town. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. "

"We booked a Double Ensuite Room. On arrival our room was the family room. Wow what a massive room. It had 3 beds. Lovely fresh looking room, so clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower had great pressure and water was hot.
We also booked a twin room. This too was lovely and clean. Had a kettle, teas and coffees for use, as did the Double Room.
Pauline & Dave were brilliant hosts. Nothing was too much if you requested anything. You could tell that they had been hosts for a long time.

"Es un hotel con una arquitectura muy antigua, cuando lo reserve me comentaron que tiene 4 estrellas y la verdad que carece de muchas comodidades para que sea de 4 estrellas.
La atención del personal muy buena, todos son muy amables.
Respecto a los desayunos no está mal pero como opinión personal debería de ser algo más variado (llevo 5 días desayunando huevos)
En cuanto a la limpieza del hotel creo que deberían de limpiar a fondo alguna vez porque a simple vista se ve todo muy limpio pero...

"Very noisy hotel. Surrounded by the motorway and a road and with a horrible acoustics isolation. The wifi does not work properly.

Excellent position , just minutes from the Essex Univ. and also from downtown...., but the problem is at night, drunken people shouting and making a lot of noise inside and outside of the hotel. Of 3 nights there, 2 of them where impossible to sleep the whole night.
Pity, because the hotel and the staff its amazing. "

"The bathroom was small and dirty with mould growing up the pipes behind the wc.
The w.c. was filthy in the bowl.
The stairs leading to the room - the Stour Room - were dusty with bitts all over
The property looks lovely outside but i would not recommend it to anyone and i think you should visit this inn urgently.
