Santander City Centre
Santander City Centre blends historic charm with coastal beauty. Wander through Belle Époque streets leading to the magnificent Gothic cathedral or explore Palacio de la Magdalena with its sweeping bay views. The Jardines de Pereda and waterfront promenades offer peaceful spots to watch boats glide across sapphire waters. Local markets buzz with energy while monuments tell stories of maritime heritage. Fresh seafood dominates local menus, from anchovies to squid dishes served in both traditional tabernas and modern restaurants. Boutique hotels in converted palaces sit alongside business-friendly accommodations. Getting around is a breeze with excellent walkability and frequent bus service connecting to beaches and train stations.

El Sardinero
El Sardinero's golden beaches stretch along Santander's stunning Bay of Biscay coastline, creating a postcard-perfect seaside escape. The elegant Belle Époque architecture and manicured Piquío Gardens add a touch of refinement to your beach days. When you're not swimming or sunbathing, explore the Magdalena Peninsula's walking trails or the grand Casino. Seafood restaurants with bay views dominate the dining scene, serving fresh catches in sophisticated settings. Choose from luxury hotels with spa amenities or upscale apartments, most offering spectacular ocean vistas. City buses connect easily to downtown Santander, though the flat promenade makes walking a pleasure along this stylish Spanish resort area.

Puertochico
Puertochico offers a taste of maritime elegance with its beautiful marina dotted with luxury yachts and traditional fishing boats. The tree-lined Paseo de Pereda invites you to stroll past Belle Époque buildings while soaking in stunning Santander Bay views. History buffs will appreciate the neighborhood's nautical heritage, visible in every corner of this refined waterfront district. Upscale seafood restaurants and pintxos bars line the promenade, serving fresh Cantabrian catches with harbor views. Boutique hotels and luxury apartments provide stylish accommodation options just steps from the water. The compact, walkable layout makes exploring this sophisticated slice of Santander a breeze.

La Gándara
Santander's La Gándara neighborhood is known for its beaches and waterfront, and entices visitors with attractions including Chico Port and Centro Botín.

Cabildo de Arriba
Cabildo de Arriba invites you to step back in time through its medieval streets and weathered stone facades. This ancient hillside quarter of Santander offers a peek into authentic Cantabrian life away from tourist crowds. Wander the narrow cobblestone alleys to discover traditional architecture, distant bay views, and the charming Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Consolación. Family-run tavernas serve regional specialties like cocido montañés at prices below city center averages. The neighborhood's steep terrain means challenging walks but rewards you with peaceful exploration of a genuine Spanish residential area. Central Santander's attractions are just a 15-20 minute downhill stroll away.

Hotel Bahia
"Excelente ubicación !!"
Dorma Coliseum
"Excellent location"
Hotel Chiqui
"Loved the hotel.Comfortable beds. Nice views. Parking is a challenge.Hotel has limited spaces and street parking is difficult due to competing with beach goers"
Hotel Santemar
"Loved the location of this hotel. Beach is within a couple minutes walk, also there are some great restaurants and coffee nearby. It’s also really close to the tunnel to walk into the city center. The staff were very kind and helpful as well."
Ibis Styles Santander
"We were travelling with a dog and had the pet suite. It was very spacious with a huge long balcony. Very comfortable beds, good shower, excellent breakfast. Staff were also excellent. Only minor things were no fridge in the room and no coffee/kettle in the room. The price for a single night at approx GBP 340 was also very expensive. It was by far the most expensive hotel in a 2-week trip staying at numerous different places across 10 countries."
Sercotel El Balcón de la Bahía
"A beautiful boutique hotel!"
Hotel Citrea Santander
"The Citrea is a lovely hotel in Santander. A short walk from the Modern Art Museum (not the Botin Centre) and the town hall and the bus station, through the tunnel. Having been to Santander we knew this wasn't far so no issues. The room was cozy, but had plenty of storage cupboards. The air conditioning was absolutely needed in the heat of the summer, would go again just for this. The staff were fantastic, supporting us with every ask and arranged a late checkout on our departure day."
Hotel Picos de Europa
"Generally good, loose toilet seat the only issue"
Abba Santander Hotel
"All good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
