Munich and related destinations
Between steins of beer at the Hofbräuhaus and surfing the Eisbach wave in the English Garden, Munich delivers contradictions with Bavarian efficiency. Marienplatz reveals its medieval heart, where the Glockenspiel's mechanical figures dance daily above crowds clutching pretzels. The Deutsches Museum houses enough scientific wonders to occupy the most curious minds for days. BMW Welt showcases German engineering with such sleek precision that even non-car enthusiasts find themselves coveting a sedan. During Oktoberfest, Theresienwiese transforms into a wonderland of beer tents and dirndls, though locals insist the city's true character emerges after the tourists depart.

Courtyard by Marriott Munich City Center
"Very nice; very pleasant, had a great stay. But.. the location was frankly weird! The area around the hotel is full of dodgy men and loiterers eyeing you up. It's disconcerting. If you're a tourist, its better to be a bit nearer the main square - this is walkable, but its a bother doing it repeatedly. But certainly a perfectly fine hotel on the inside."
Sofitel Munich Bayerpost
"The AC doesn’t work well in the 8th floor suites.."
KING's HOTEL Center Superior
"The hotel was conveniently located close to the main train station and across the street from an excellent bakery! Lobby had comfortable seating, including a couple of fun "king's thrones" good for a photo op. Bed was comfortable and we appreciated the fridge and the water provided free of charge—a large bottle in our room and a pitcher of lemon water in the lobby. They also stored our luggage at no charge on the day of checkout (don't pay the storage shop a couple of doors down!)."
Eden Hotel Wolff
"The staff is wonderful and helpful. I love the bus station being close,"
Arthotel Munich
"Nice hotel located close to the main train station in Munich (you can take the S1 or S8 train to and from the airport). Also walking distance to the main part of Munich with a lot of food options. Subway and tram stations also near by. Nice breakfast is an added bonus."
Cocoon München Hauptbahnhof
"Cute, alpine themed hotel near the train station. Room was small, but cozy."
Maritim Hotel München
"Lovely clean hotel located next to the train station making it perfect for day trips out of Munich to other German cities or for using the underground, trams and buses to get around the city. The swimming pool was also lovely too - you do have to pay 5 euros to use the gym though. The station next door is also great for grabbing breakfast on the go. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Munich."
Scandic München Macherei
"Check in was quick and the staff at reception were helpful. The room was great, had all the amenities to make one’s stay comfortable (kettle, small fridge-tiny, but still, nice to have!-iron board, hair dryer). The bed was great and had a very good night sleep. The air con was working just fine. I didn't have breakfast so I can’t rate it. Overall I had a very good experience."
