"The hotel is in a lovely building, retaining original features with the café area displaying some original items such as the cash register from 1882. The room key is also a traditional type which I liked.
The room had a lovely original fireplace and very comfy bed. The pillows were so comfy I checked the label so I could get some for home.
The breakfast was great, all good quality ingredients and well cooked. The scrambled egg was especially delicious!

"Was a lovely little room. Clean and cozy.
Down points are that room was too hot with no means to cool it down and no spoons or stirrers to make the drinks.
Would deffo recommend but if your like me and get hot too quick then ask for a room with aircon."

"We stayed in the room with two double beds. It’s at the top of the hotel so the view was good. Bathroom is surprisingly spacious and fancy! We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that but plenty of pubs in walking distance."

Only potential problem is that it can be noisy in the main building. It’s a very old house and the floors creak. We had someone above us who woke at 5am and chose to pace back and forth for the next few hours. This was very annoying so you may want to consider this before booking a room in the main house. "

"Fantastic locals pub with lots of atmosphere, great food. Can't speak highly enough of the village of Ashover, and the surrounding area.
The rooms are a little small but its what you expect for a pub of that age.
Definately a 5 star stay."
