It's a weird area in that it's situated close to Pennsylvania and Ohio in opposite directions. I spent time at the Wal-Mart and Scratch Kitchen at the Highlands. Both places were really nice and kept up. I liked the look of the whole area.

I like to stay here mid trip..easy access from highway..lots of dining options and the staff here are all so efficient and friendly.
"The bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I have slept on. It was firm and supportive.
Breakfast was hot and fresh. It was nice to be able to grab a bite to eat and get back on the road. I would stay there again. "

"As non-gamblers, we can't comment on the gambling aspect, but the hotel and rooms themselves were clean and it offered more than your average hotel. We did have a blood stain on our sheets and they offered to move us to a different room, but we chose to get different sheets instead.
Free coffee in the morning, but no free breakfast.
Free parking, felt safe leaving the car in the parking lot, even in that community.
I would not recommend walking around the area, as Wheeling Island is run-down, but it was a short drive to everything Wheeling and the surrounding area has to offer.
Good price for what you get, BUT we added a second weekday night and it was $20 more than buying through Expedia. Check your pricing before buying."
