Historic Strater Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"100% would recommend staying here. It’s a slice of life in the late 1800’s. The room was clean and welcoming with authentic period furniture. We had drinks and appetizers at The Office Spiritorium which were amazing. There were preserved items from the hotel’s history in display cases, which were really interesting context for the hotel history. We also went over to the Diamond Belle Saloon for dinner and had such a great time listening to the piano music and experiencing an old west saloon. The food was great. All of the staff - the front desk and both restaurants we went to were very friendly and welcoming. Great place!"
Adventure Inn Durango
10/10 Excellent
"Pros: Clean room, helpful staff, amazing hot tub. A block and a half from the trolley which is free during the summer. On-site laundry, 1980s prices. Soap available for $1 at the front desk. Cons: Not handicapped accessible with stairs to everything. Laundry is up a long flight of stairs on the second floor. No pillows that weren't feathers (I'm allergic) and I bought 2 polyester pillows which I left at the property when I left. Would stay there again."
Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here for the location as we rode the train to Silverton. The pool is fine. Free drinks at happy hour but it just lasts a short time. Breakfast is decent. We had trouble with our air-conditioning but they quickly made a repair when we complained by bringing us a new one. Staff is considerate and professional."
Adobe Inn

"Great place for a night. Needs some updating but friendly staff and great location!"
The General Palmer Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I wanted the taste of the historic hotels and the Palmer was the clear winner. A bargain at twice the price. Neat as a pin, comfortable bed and pillows, killer breakfast. Parking convenient and free. Now my go-to when I return to Durango. Highly recommended."
