Kostas, the host, is the nicest guy you will ever meet. Kostas is a Hydra local. He was very welcoming and super helpful, offering us the best tips for where to eat and swim, and how to get around. He made our stay at Hydra great and we would love to come back."

"It was a beautifully restored mansion. We were in the basement but there was plenty of sunlight streaming in from windows. Bedroom was in upstairs loft so stairs to navigate . Bathroom downstairs. Everything updated and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, from granola with fruit to eggs and small spinach pies. Tasty orange cake to top it off!
Lovely place with garden and resident tortoise and areas to sit outside with a glass of wine. Highly recommend and use the donkeys to carry luggage!"

Unless you are carrying a light weight bag, just plan on hiring the donkey transportation to the hotel. I carried my heavy bad myself, having not understood how many steps there actually were and would not recommend it! I highly recommend Hydra Hotel for its kind staff, beautiful aesthetics, and insane...

He was always very eager to help - even offering to act as a payment intermediary when the kayaking company would not accept credit card payments. He definitely went above & beyond.

"This place is awesome. The staff is great especially Maria! You walk up and give them your name and go to your room. Check out is pay the bill. If the egg at breakfast has been out a bit they offer to make a new one. Quiet at night. You do need a car as it is about 1.5 kilometers out of town. I’d stay again in a minute."
