"I travel frequently and rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this resort was disappointing due to the consistently poor customer service.
The biggest issue was the attitude and lack of helpfulness from several staff members throughout our stay. During multiple interactions, employees came across as rude, dismissive, and condescending rather than welcoming and solution-oriented.
One example occurred at approximately 8:00 AM when I approached the concierge desk for assistance. Instead of helping, I was told to come back later because their computers were not fully started up yet. The staff member explained that management allows a 10-minute grace period because employees arrive shortly before opening. Regardless of internal policies, guests should not be turned away in this manner.
For a resort of this size, especially one connected to three large resort properties, I was surprised to learn there is no 24-hour maintenance support available. We also experienced ongoing difficulty obtaining clean towels, both for the beach and for our room.
Another frustration was the restaurant reservation system. As an all-inclusive resort, I expected dining to be more accessible. However, it was extremely difficult to secure reservations at the specialty restaurants. What made this even more frustrating was that when we walked by several of the restaurants, they were clearly not at capacity and had many empty tables available. "Overall okay experience. Room cleanliness was okay; while not sparkling it also wasn’t *dirty* and the rest of the grounds were clean especially the pool area which we appreciated. Food was subpar but everyone at both restaurants was friendly and that counts for something."

"I've stayed at other Riu properties. This property was disappointing. I'll have to stay elsewhere when I return to Aruba.
Pros: The staff was helpful when checking in. They were very responsive to requests during my stay.
Cons:
-I had to beg for clean towels everyday.
-The food at the buffet was good for breakfast & lunch; dinner was horrible, even at the restaurants.
-There weren't any real activities on on property (parties, games, etc.).
-On many occasions the staff wasn't friendly, borderline rude.
-The decor was old & the carpet on the hallway floors was dirty."
"Great hotel…but not so great service!
We were there for 7 days/6nights. The hotel is gorgeous and super private but be aware is it located in a very remote area away from everything, which was fine with us.
The food is delicious across the board. The staff is fine but not comparable to other Secrets staff (ex Cap Cana in the DR). Now, our biggest issue and disappointment with the Aruba Secrets was the service around the pool area, it is simply terrible! Service is practically non existing in the pool area which is a shame since guests spend most of their time around the pool. Shame shame shame!
Also, please do not buy the Flamingo Island tour, it is totally not worth the high price. We purchased the premium experience and it was really bad; practically lost an entire day 😳"
