Only thing bad, the caesar salad at the pool was HOT, like it was horrible. Please dont feed that anymore unless it comes chilled with the chicken on top. The salad should not be HOT!!

This was our 2nd stay. It was nice to see the same staff that was still there. Breakfast is worth every penny huge Friday. Rooms were very comfortable and the view was amazing.
Did a ton of research on hotels in Positano for week vacay w/ my GF - trying to keep $ manageable while providing key amenities (good balcony, location, etc.). So happy I went with Savoia.
Location - Perfect, seriously. Quick walk to Main Beach (5-10 mins) but situated on Cristoforo Colombo which has several nice bars/restaurants & amazing views. Also only 5 min. walk to the Sponda SITA bus stop (other stop is at the top of town). Couldn't beat it.

As many other reviewers mentioned, it's a great hotel for the money. The hotel is run by Antonio and Paulo (father and son) who speak very good English and are very helpful with recommendations.
Breakfast: a good choice of fruits, meat cuts, cheese, cereal, coffee, etc.
Rooms: Good size. Modest, but have everything you need

Great property. The only down side is that the gate for entrance and after hours does not lock - its not broken it just doesn't lock. Any one can walk in off the street. This should be secured with an entrance code or key.

I had a pleasant stay. From check-in until I checked-out, and anything i need in between including transportation and places to visit. Their breakfast was sooooo goood and so fresh. It wasn’t the ordinary continental breakfast. Everyone was very nice. Definitely worth staying.
We had a fabulous experience at Villa Fraulo. When we arrived, the hotel staff was waiting at the entrance to greet us and make us welcome. We had 2 rooms, each w/ a balcony overlooking the Med. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. This includes the bathrooms which were large and luxurious. Breakfast was served each morning on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Med. The view of the entire Golfo di Salerno from this hotel, it makes you believe that heavens exist. From your balcony at an elevation of 2000 ft plus, you get to enjoy an amazing breathtaking panorama of Capri, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Salerno. It’s perfect location for visiting the Amalfi Coast! Close to Amalfi and Positano, but not in the middle of them, so it’s quiet and much cheaper! You could pay double or triple for a beach front hotel there!

My wife and I stayed Thursday through Sunday, the hotel did allow us to check out 30 minutes late till 11am and we were also allowed to leave our luggage while we continued to check out Salerno all day Sunday.
All front desk personnel were great, the entire premises was clean, the breakfast was limited but good, our room was clean, and the balcony had 2 chairs and a table were we could drink and have a smoke.

We had a marvelous time on our week long trip and stayed at the Excelsior the enire time. The view was breathtaking from our lovely balcony. The daily shuttle to the private beach and city center of Amalfi was perfect. The mediterranean is so different each day sometimes calm sometimes big surf. The elevator down to the beach was very James Bond! You had the sense of adventure. Also if you have those OP beach shoes, wear them. They are perfect for the beach which is large smooth pebbles. ...
