Hvar Old Town
Hvar Old Town captivates visitors with its honey-colored stone buildings and red-tiled roofs. Wander narrow cobblestone streets to discover the medieval St. Stephen's Cathedral, 16th-century Venetian Loggia, and ancient city walls. The Arsenal theater and peaceful Franciscan monastery offer glimpses into Croatia's rich maritime past. Soak up spectacular Adriatic views along the palm-lined harbor promenade. Upscale seafood restaurants and traditional konobas serve fresh catches and local wines with waterfront views. Boutique hotels in converted palaces provide luxury accommodations with historic charm. The compact layout makes everything walkable within 10 minutes, though water taxis are available for island-hopping adventures.

Milna
This small fishing village wraps you in pure Adriatic charm with its picture-perfect harbor where colorful boats bob against stone buildings. Stroll the waterfront promenade at sunset for jaw-dropping views, or find your own patch of pebbled beach for a refreshing dip. Milna's winding cobblestone streets lead to St. Nicholas Church and hidden spots where you can escape the crowds. Traditional konobas serve up fresh-caught seafood and local wines on terraces overlooking turquoise waters. The village is totally walkable, with family-run guesthouses and apartments tucked into historic stone buildings. Seasonal boat taxis make island-hopping a breeze when you're ready to explore beyond this peaceful Dalmatian haven.

Križni rat
Križni rat offers a peaceful coastal escape from the bustle of Hvar Town. Pristine pebble beaches and crystal-clear Adriatic waters create the perfect setting for swimming and snorkeling adventures. Pine-scented paths wind along the shoreline, revealing hidden coves and spectacular views that most tourists miss. Lavender fields and Mediterranean vegetation add splashes of color to this serene landscape. Family-run konobas serve fresh seafood and authentic Dalmatian specialties on charming outdoor terraces. Accommodations range from private apartments to small guesthouses, most with sea views and direct beach access. Getting around is simple—the compact area is perfect for walking, while taxi boats provide quick connections to nearby attractions.

Križna luka
Križna luka offers the perfect escape from Hvar Town's bustle without sacrificing those dreamy Adriatic views. Crystal-clear waters lap against pebbly shores perfect for swimming and snorkeling right outside your door. Pine-scented breezes follow you along coastal walking paths where sunset strolls reveal picture-perfect moments at every turn. Waterfront restaurants serve fresh seafood and Dalmatian specialties on terraces overlooking the sea. Most visitors stay in stone villas or private apartments with personal touches and sea views. Though quieter than downtown, you're just a short walk from Hvar Town's attractions when you're ready for more action.

Learn more about Hvar
Between the lavender-scented hills and crystal Adriatic waters, a medieval town unfolds like a historical treasure map. Climb to Hvar Fortress for panoramic views that explain why Venetians fought to control this strategic harbor. The 1612 theater – one of Europe's oldest – anchors a cultural scene that would impress cities ten times its size. By day, sail to the Pakleni Islands' hidden coves where the water shifts between impossible shades of blue. After sunset, the harbor transforms as yachts disgorge beautiful people into seafront bars. For a quieter experience, explore the stone lanes behind St. Stephen's Square, where locals tend centuries-old family homes. The beaches at Mekicevica and Pokonji Dol offer perfect swimming without the crowds of the main harbor.

Podstine Hotel
"Place was a perfect, transfers from the port if needed, walking distance to town for adventures, water front hotel, with its own jetty and dive centre, little gym to get some work outs in, pasta servings for price was actually decent vs other restaurants close"

Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort
"Really nice hotel with modern, well-kept rooms and friendly staff. The pool and pool bar are a nice feature, although people tend to stay around the bar for hours, making it quite difficult to actually access it from the pool. It is very family-oriented, so expect plenty of children around. Breakfast had a large selection and was actually quite good. Food and drink prices were also in line with what you'd expect from other places in Hvar. There is direct beach access, but the beach is public, so you’re not guaranteed to find a spot, especially when it’s busy."
Hotel Teranea
"Beautiful clean hotel, great breakfast in the morning and good walking distance to beach and town. Staff was great and helpful."
Hotel Moeesy Blue & Green Oasis - Adults Only
"The most amazing hotel ever. The breakfast was like nothing else and staff were incredibly helpful!!"
Forkira Luxury Hvar
"This apartment was beautiful and in a perfect location! The beds were comfortable and the a/c worked great. It would have been nice to have 2 bathrooms but other than that it was perfect!"
Hotel Park Hvar
"This is really a top hotel, the linens the finishing in the room was beautiful really top-notch. I know a lot of people enjoyed the breakfast. I was like OK with it. I didn’t think it was so great would definitely return."
Vila Lacman
"This was a very good stay just 15 minutes out of the main town. Like most accommodations out of city centre, you will have a good leg workout walking up the city steps to reach these apartments! The room was very clean, very good value, good air conditioner, and very practical shared kitchen on the ground floor. Our hosts were absolute gems, very kind to us even with a language barrier. Honestly the only "complaint" I could have was that I could find green tea but not coffee. First world problems, indeed! :-) I would definitely stay here again next time I come to Hvar."
