"We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

"Little romatic getaway for me and my partner . Perfect location ( did struggle finding it ) But Perfect. Warm, cozy loved sitting by the fire pit each night . Shower was toasty, beautiful views, animals and under the stars "

"Lovely location with good views, tranquil. Easy to get to various attractions. Bathroom door needs sorting as door doesn't latch and a shower tidy would be useful in the cubicle."

"We stayed in the Coach House and what wonderful place to stay. The views are lovely. Watching and interacting with the four horses that are in an enclosed field right next to the apartment was lovely. The apartment is a converted coach house and has loads of character. It's open plan, airy and roomy and has everything available if you want to cook yourself, and it also has a log burner. There's some lovely pubs/ restaurants nearby, our favourite being the Dog & Pickle. Excellent WiFi too."

"It was perfect for a night or 2. I tried contacting the owner before hand to ask booking in time and how to get in but no reply so we were hanging around hoping. More communication would be great, however the rooms were small and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean, pure white towels, clean bedding and plenty of sockets. Lovely outside seating area. Will definitely return. "

"Apartment is great if you want to be right in the heart of the city but during our stay the front door to the apartment complex did not lock and was not fixed during our 2 night stay. Did not make us feel the safest, thankfully the area seemed safe. The bed is not the comfiest, and the bathroom is very small. "

"The apartment was fairly clean, but the sofa bed was very disappointing. Covered in debris, jelly sweets under the matress, very uncomfortable There were no duvet cover or pillow cases for the extra bed. Not ideal for our friends"

"Lovely little hotel we would t hesitate to stay in again. We had a lovely welcome on arrival, and the room was clean and functional. Yes, it’s dated and parts are not ideal but the owner is obviously trying to improve as and when they can and responds to all feedback positively. I think the descriptions of the rooms etc could do to be improved just for clarity, but it’s a minor issue. I’ll definitely be back in the future. "

Everything was provided, from ecofriendly shampoo and bodywash to pristine robes and towels, a lovely coffee machine, fresh mik with the tea facilities and an excellent guide to the house, its facilities and local walks. "Great apartment, more of a 1 bedroom house as two floors. Clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything needed (eg kitchen appliances, cutlery, plates, oven pots and pans). Bar over the road and Spar shop next door for convenience."

"WE had a brilliant short stay in Chester. We visited Liverpool by train and Nantwich by bus. The city centre and plenty of restaurants were all within a few minutes walk. The Golden Eagle was first class. The owner and staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We are already thinking of another stay with them."
