"We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

The man who provided tea making bits was super nice. I managed to leave my fan remote behind and it hadn't turned up when I first rang but another lovely man took my details and said he would see if he could track it down. He rang me back , having found it ,and asked what I would like to do I asked if they could post it to me which they agreed...

"On first impressions the beds seemed very uncomfortable. The main bed was very firm and the sofa bed had its springs secured to the frame (in case of spring thief I assume) which made it dip in the middle. We took the very thin mattress off the sofa bed and laid it on the floor so it was at least flat. We actually all slept very well so no complaints afterwards. In the room we were greeted by a kettle but no cups and no tea or coffee - confused I asked reception and apparently it was the morning...

"We stayed in the Coach House and what wonderful place to stay. The views are lovely. Watching and interacting with the four horses that are in an enclosed field right next to the apartment was lovely. The apartment is a converted coach house and has loads of character. It's open plan, airy and roomy and has everything available if you want to cook yourself, and it also has a log burner. There's some lovely pubs/ restaurants nearby, our favourite being the Dog & Pickle. Excellent WiFi too."

One employee, sorry...didn't catch her name, but she was a blonde lady who did both frontdesk and cleaning of rooms, really went the extra mile for me, sorting an iron at short notice, when all of them had been lent out. She's a real asset. "

"Hotel is an ex. Premier Inn Hotel taken over by Stables in October 2019. Very little has been done to the rooms since then (with the except of a new TV). As you may imagine, things are a little dated and a refresh is needed. Having said this the hotel offers great value, it is clean and we had a great nights sleep. For the price paid, it did the job well!"

More communication would be great, however the rooms were small and had everything we needed. Spotlessly clean, pure white towels, clean bedding and plenty of sockets. Lovely outside seating area. Will definitely return. "

"There was a problem when checking in that could have been resolved if front desk would just give a call to Expedia but instead the man responded in a rude manner, with no intention to help us whatsoever. It was only one person but it ruined the experience. "
