We only stayed one night at the Chateau, so we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to explore the grounds. The little that we were able to see was beautiful and such a needed break from the chaos of Paris. The hosts were helpful and very kind. The breakfast in the morning was delightful. We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. Bill had also brought some snacks/breakfast for us.

This property is near two places that I can only recommend. One is obvious, Mount saint Michel. I left the hotel early and arrived at the Abbey at around 7:30 AM, way before all the masses of tourists and had a nice time exploring the town. This is one of the few places to stay on Mont Saint-Michel. We decided to splurge because we wanted to experience the island after the crowds were gone. The room was very up-to-date and well thought out. We had a view of the bay and kept the window open all night to stay cool. No cooling otherwise. Also up lots of spiral stairs. We were allowed to leave our backpacks before check in and after check out so we could walk unhindered. Comfy bed, lots of pillows, mini fridge, we didn't try TV. ...
Loved this place! Only one problem. We booked this hotel because the discription said it was 15 mins from Mont Saint Michel! Wrong!!! It took us 50 mins driving to get there! So yes, it was lovely, along the coast, just not close like we were told on Hotels.com.
