The owners are darling. Everything was perfect. The apartments are spacious. The breakfast is delicious. The pool is a very special, relaxing space. We took a private day tour with Mathieu, which was perfectly tailored to a needs. Highly recommended.
We loved our stay! The room was beautifully decorated, the bed a real king sized bed, the renovation thoughtful both in use of space and with beautiful old details left to shine. A plant filled courtyard and intimate breakfast room and lounge. Real glasses for enjoying the cold rosé. A beautiful stay. Add to that a bustling residential neighborhood just outside the tourist center, in the oldest building in Avignon and extremely welcoming hosts! Highly recommended
This is one of the most wonderful and comfortable places I have ever stayed. The property is beautiful, the rooms are very large (even by US standards), the breakfast was fantastic, but the people were beyond all expectations. Henri, Veldi, Dominique, and Norwin (the folks who manage and run the place) are the most wonderful, welcoming, friendly and kind people you will meet as a traveler. Truly an exceptional visit. There are no downsides. Just fantastic.
Every aspect of this hotel gets an A+. The property is absolutely breathtaking and so nicely done. So many amazing flowers and trees I've literally never smelled such wonderful natural smell before. The pool is massive and the surrounding area was lovely. Respectful and classy guests at the resort. They also upgraded our rooms for free which was an amazing surprise upon arrival.

The property is a VRBO Style not a hotel. We had problems finding the place initially and had to call Pauline who was very helpful and came out so our Uber driver could get us to the property. Very nice pool and jacuzzi. Our room had a beautiful jetted jacuzzi tub and fancy steam shower. Location is very well situated and about 8 minute walk to the pope Palace and adjacent restaurants.
The hotel is conveniently situated for travellers, well-maintained and the amenities are modern and very nice. The buffet breakfast looked varied and fresh.
The duplex was great for our family of four. We loved the kitchen and living room—they’re both very spacious and comfortable. The apartment is close enough to all the restaurants and touristy spots, yet it still feels like we’re living like locals in Avignon. The owner is also very responsive to recommendations and questions about the area.
Val Baussenc is a nice hotel. Close drive to St. Remy. Night manager needs a lesson in hospitality. Didn't offer to carry bags over three flights of stairs. No suggestions for food and drinks. He seemed eager to clock out and leave for the evening rather than help guests.
Beautiful location, and grounds. Charming buildings and excellent place to have dinner and take in the view. Food and food service were top notch. The decks on the suite are a fantastic place to relax after a day of exploring with sweeping views with a lot character. The staff were all very helpful (exception of one preoccupied with personal phone so as to forget about our request for drinks to be delivered to poolside, got remedied after the second visit to front desk 30 minutes later). ...
A marvelous experience through and through. The location is incredible, in walking distance to the village. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge and updated. Loved the entire setting. Anyone who has been to the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, CA, will understand when I say, it's a mini-version of that location.
The Villas at Victor Hugo was a lovely place. Very convenient for our days in Avignon. The Expedia listing for the apartments is incorrect in that it lists washer and dryer for the apartments - but it seems that there is only one or two apartments that have that amenity. This was a big negative but not a reflection of the host as they have repeatedly tried to get Expedia to correct the error.
This hotel was the highlight of our Provence trip. The owner and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. They are generous on their servings. The location of the hotel is perfec for both local and for day trips. There’s a map on the wall with recommend place for those like us who do road trips. We stayed 3 nights and wanted to stay longer. This was an exceptionally enjoyable stay. The outdoor patios were beautiful and an excellent setting for a great breakfast with fresh baguettes and croissants, fruit and cold cuts, coffee. I enjoyed soft boiling my own eggs. The staff/owners were very friendly and accommodating and helped us find a place to park our car though there is also a garage available. The room had new showers. Glad that we booked for 3 days!!
