We had a fabulous stay at El Pequeno Gecko Verde, it is a true jungle oasis! Our kids, ages 5 & 7 loved the walk through the jungle to the secret beach and the pool was the perfect way to cool off in the afternoons. My son especially loved the banana milkshakes! El Colibri is an excellent choice for a week long stay in Playa Carrillo. Our kids loved the pool and were very comfortable roaming about the property and surrounding area. Its very nice siting on the veranda watching the birds singing in the mango trees and the rain in the afternoon .The short walk to the beach is very stress free you will meet the locals And see a lot more than you expect .you will love the soda close by (Francisco ) very good food and nice family that is Carrillo .we had a good time .
Rooms are big and comfy, staff is pretty friendly and the breakfast was great. Pool was good, services like chairs and showers at the beach were fantastic as well. Hope to visit again!
Hung up in unbelievable traffic in Santa Cruz, I was not able to check into the hotel until 7 AM the next day when they reopened. So I don't have the overnight experience one expects.
That said, the room was very clean, the shower had good hot water, and I did get a morning nap on the bed. Fort7nately, it is off the road a bit. But noise carries and young Costa Ricans love their motorcycles. So if you are super noise sensitive that might bother you, but the traffic is really light on that...
One of the best views you can get into Carillo, the hotel looks like it is brand new, great prices on the happy hour and food, the infinity pool makes everything better.
