This property was absolutely epic. Extremely fast communication, gorgeous house and delicious dinner coordinated during a time when most things are shut. Mari and her team were so great. We regretted we didn't have more than one night to enjoy this picturesque village and perfect house. It surpassed all expectations. This was our family's second visit at Kanra, it's just so beautiful. The level of detail is aww inspiring.The location is great, an 8 minute walk from the main Kyoto train station where you walk by a massive temple. And there's a subway entrance 100 feet from the hotel. I also recommend getting the Japanese breakfast here. Each dish has so much care and flavor to it, even the bowls are made in a way to better present its contents. The rooms are of course amazing as well, with their wooden tubs...
This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.
Staying at this hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip. The location is unbeatable—right across from Kyoto Station, but as soon as you step inside, it's like entering another world. It's so peaceful that you'd never guess you were just steps from the hustle and bustle of the station.

Most amazing space, room, location, and food. 10/10 would recommend. Had more than enough room to spread out, relax, and not feel cramped at all. Location to the main train station was also a plus, and the restaurant in the hotel was amazing.

Great little hotel. Very quiet and calm. Great showers. Lots of pastries and drinks, which solved the problem of breakfast, especially for us, as we woke up at 5 am most days. (We noticed that some guests filled up bags of croissants after checking out, which was really sad to see, as they just emptied out the box of pastries into a plastic bag and left other guests nothing.) there is a 7/11 and a metro line right next to it. And some nice restaurants around too.
This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great.
