"Stayed two nights. Excellent spa and gym. Staff very helpful . Breakfast was good quality fresh and hot. Fruit selection basic. Intending on a return visit and will stay 5 days"

"The hotel is beautiful and full of character, and the historic building is wonderfully decorated. However, I don’t feel the overall experience justified the price. The room was comfortable, but there were several issues that need attention. The shower water pressure was very low, the TV only had local channels with no streaming options, and the room became very warm with limited ventilation. The hairdryer in the laundry room was also broken. My biggest disappointment was that dogs are only allowed in the rooms and not in the restaurant or pub. As a dog owner, this meant I couldn’t make full use of the hotel’s facilities. Overall, a lovely building, but I think some modernisation and maintenance improvements are needed to match the price point."

"Beautiful place but breakfast was a let down. They specifically asked for a time to be down for breakfast. We chose 9am asked for poached eggs whilst I got my toast etc waited a long time and they weren't fresh, they'd been previously cooked and reheated. Why I waited so long I have no idea. It's not a cheap hotel and poached eggs don't take long to do fresh to order"

"Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very tired. Furniture was worn and dirty. Front revolving door was so dirty your fingers would slip on the handrail and your reflection in the dirty glass window was blurry. The tablecloths in the diningroom had sun spots and green stains. You can tell the management was investing in the exterior with fresh paint but the interior needed excessive work"
