"The Blacksmith's Arms was an excellent choice for nearby Glyndebourne. This is a nice neighbourhood with an interesting history and good communications - I do hope that they don't turn the area into a "new Town" as some developers are hoping to do. Strongly recommended! #"

"What a lovely place to stay! Located in a lovely area with views of the sea this place is great to stay for a little weekend in Brighton. Check in was really easy and the room was perfect! Breakfast included was a huge bonus. Staff are really helpful and friendly especially the young lady on reception, Can't remember her name but she was a star a real highlight to the place. Will definitely be staying here again!"

"Friendly and unusual hotel. Limited food but other places close by. Lovely woodland gardens - but floodlights at night made the room bright. If you want a different stay with an unusually themed country house feel then this is the place."

"Love this chilled place set in beautiful mature woodland the decor is just incredible, service is really lovely and friendly. Rooms are also comfortable and clean, shower is excellent. Parking is plentiful. Bus Stop into Hastings is 5 minutes walk away. 5 star"

"For us, just a one night stay. A clean comfortable room, although a little basic, all in a lovely old building. Easy parking, helpful staff, great restaurant with excellent food for both breakfast & dinner. A very pleasant stay!! "

"The couple who run this place, are very friendly. The whole place is in good order, the room we had was nice and comfortable with a nice shower. The food we had was excellent. We would stay here again."

"This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops.
The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent.
Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy)
All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area"

"The bed was a king size comfortable bed with nice linen. Clean fluffy towels and plenty of room in the bathroom. The shower was good and did not have any mould. We stayed in one of the pubs old out buildings that has been converted into accommodation. No frills, clean and private. The only thing to consider is that the headboard backs onto the road. That being said only 3 vehicles passed during our stay. The owner was nice and chatty. The blinds in the bedroom did let the morning sun in they did...

Pero luego una vez allí se nota la falta de mantenimiento y personal. La habitación normal. El agua de la ducha sin presión. La cama bien. La tele no funcionaba bien. Tiene un patio muy mono. El desayuno normal. Lo mejor sin duda el recepcionista Francisco, como no, español. Muy caro para lo que es. No repetiría. "

Period hotel- I know, but some areas dated and some areas needed cleaners to pay closer attention to details. But by and large clean.

"The room was pleasantly decorated and well equipped. However, there were a few stray hairs here and there. The bed was roomy but lumpy. The seagulls were very noisy, but the earplugs provided worked well. The hotel is situated in a great area. We would have preferred a sea view rather than a view of the car park."
