This stay was superb in every way. The price was very reasonable, even cheap, for the value received. Dinner and breakfast were both quality meals, and the room and total facility was excellent. Best of all was the staff, from check-in to checkout.

My stay here was absolutely wonderful, I definitely hope to stay again! I traveled solo, appreciated the onsite parking, security of the building itself as well as my room. I stayed in the Annika room, small single. It was absolutely perfect for my needs, chair was comfy for study, bed comfy & cozy and I was probably lucky to have 2 windows for cross breeze. Perfect location for exploring Gothenburg. We had two rooms for our family and they were very comfortable. The bathroom is quite tiny and getting in and out of the shower was a little challenging but the bedroom was a good size and had lots of storage for out stuff. The included breakfast is wonderful and was the highlight of our stay! Our daughter said the gym was "a real gym" with good equipment. This will be our new go-to when visiting family in Gothenburg.

Helpful staff

We had a wonderful stay. The room was very comfortable, as was the bathroom, which had a retractable clothes line. Halfway through our trip, that was most welcome. Why don’t more hotels have those? Wonderful breakfast. Very helpful and informed staff. Great location. I would most definitely recommend the Avalon hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this Bed and Breakfast place. Very clean and accommodating. The shared bathrooms were extremely clean with generous space and the showers are awesome. Our room was tidy, clean and refreshing. Rooms were quiet and peaceful and great for sleeping. Everyone one was friendly and breakfast was certainly well thought out and delicious. We also were just a block or so away from the number 5 tram that takes you right into the city of Gothenberg which really is a short distance...

This is now one of my favorite city hotels in the world. The property is creative and artistic, the rooms are nice, the staff is very friendly, and the food is terrific. Excellent location as well. It is the only place I would stay in Gothenburg.

A unique boutique hotel close to the train station which made it easy as we’re traveling by train across Sweden. Wonderful breakfast options on the top floor with a view. A nice bonus was they had a flat iron for my hair. When you are a foreign traveler who tries to pack light, this was a nice surprise. My only small suggestion would be to add a small side table next to the sink. Digging through my toiletries bag on the floor was obnoxious. Not much counter space in our room. Everything else...

Great location. We loved how easy it was to walk everywhere downtown and go to Gothenburg central.

Great hotel across from the train station. Ask the front desk for a room "not" on the tram side. Extremely loud all throughout the night.

Hard to describe other than this being a hidden gem. It seems as though it’s a former luxury hotel that’s been nicely modified to still be relevant. The sauna, breakfast and location were great. Super easy access to downtown and well worth the price. Might be one of the best values I’ve ever had for the price.

This hotel is centrally located and lovely. Just about everything you could want is here with one exception. The hotels.com listing is a bit deceptive when it says they have laundry facilities. They offer laundry but you have to send it off and, as expected from thst kind of offering, it is EXPENSIVE. Other than tbat though, the staff were wonderful and always willing to help whenever possible. The room was clean and even had heated bathroom floors. Nice hotel for the money, with comfortable beds, nice bathroom, very pretty terrace as well as reception/restaurant/bar area (with shuffleboard!), and a tram stop steps away. The daily (gratis) breakfast was also pretty incredible - huge spread of savories and sweets including sandwich-making foods.
