Inase is built within an old house, I believe. It’s very unique and fun to step back in time and experience Japan in a deeper way than modern ryokans. I highly recommend it and will certainly stay there again.
To start the staff is absolutely kind and hospitable. They really make you feel at home even if you’re 1000s of miles from it. Second, the actual hotel and scenery is out of a dream. An actual fairy tale! It made me fall in love with Japan even more. Third, everything was super clean and neat. And lastly, the complimentary items were just unbelievable! I will recommend anyone and everyone to this beautiful place. I will forever be grateful for everyone there!
This was a beautiful ryokan to stay. The staff are very helpful to english speaking visitors and can accommodate very well. This ryokan offers you to dine in an intimate setting so you're in a separate room with your guests/partner. Other ryokans have you sit in a restaurant style setting so you're in a large room with open tables. Our waitress and maid was super helpful and very caring for us while we stayed. The ryokan has several onsen locations in the building, they rotate one days the men...
The staff were very accomodating and communicative. They truly seemed to care that we understood everything about our stay, especially as foreigners who are here to learn.
Brand new property. Parking available for a charge (limited spaces). Onsen on property, very nice with sauna and cold bath. Beds are firm but comfortable. Breakfast with an additional charge. Japanese style breakfast, so skip if you want western style.
Great value for money! We stayed here for three nights - my husband and I in one room and our kids in another. The room with the single bed is very compact, so I'd suggest booking a room with two beds. But the rooms were very clean, modern and quiet. We stayed on the top floor and it was very quiet. The staff were lovely and it was a bonus to have the buffet breakfast included. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Yokkaichi. It's across from the train station and within walking...
Amazing! The property offered a shuttle ride from the station. We were greeted with a cup of tea. We were also taken to our room and with assistance and given a thorough tour of the space and the services that the hotel provided. The property has a beautiful view of the lake. The room was spacious for our group. Highly recommend the meals offered for dinner and breakfast. The onsen was also clean and spacious.
Vessel Inns really growing on me. Rooms are usually bigger than most standard Japanese biz hotels with free 'proper' coffee in the lobby an added bonus. Breakfast at the downstairs bakery also good.
The Boston Hotel is literally steps just outside the JR Kusatsu train station. If traveling by train, the convenience really can't be beat.
The room was very clean and well maintained, though small as with many Japanese rooms. Only 2 people can fit so we had 2 rooms for a family of 4 and it worked great. There were slippers and a sleeping gown to freely use and the selection of toiletries was surprisingly robust.
The service was exceptional as we had no trouble speaking with the lobby...
Quick breakdown, I only had one week to book a hotel and I was looking for a true Japanese B&B.
Staff was amazing and very nice.
Location is 10 minutes (car ride) from JR station. When you get to the station, ask the person in the station to call for your hotel ride. DO NOT attempt to go up that hill with luggage. There is not a walkway. The transport to and from hotel is included in price.
Hotel grounds are large, you can tell that this place used to be very popular.
Public bath is...
