"Most peaceful beach, gorgeous views, within walking distance to some of the most iconic restaurants, and a great grocery store with delicious poke! Feels like home, everyone (guests, staff, etc.) are all so friendly. We saw a monk seal, sea turtles, and whales! This is the best place to be in all of Maui. We met a couple who told us they’d been vacationing to the Mauian since they honeymooned 50 years ago!!! There’s a reason they keep coming back, and we will too! ❤️❤️❤️"

"We have stayed at Gardens at West Maui every few years for the last twenty years. It's been our favorite place and we've recommended it to dozens of family and friends. Never before have had anything but an excellent experience. This trip was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. 1. Dogs were barking every night. Many dogs. Very loud. Awakened us many times each night - as well as barking during the day. 2. Maintenance seems to have been stepped down. Place appears shabby. There was rust in the show, mildew on the bathroom ceiling, uncleaned smudges on the glass wardrobe doors and grimy bathtub. 3. The dryer vent for the unit was missing and a rather large bird seemed to be nesting and trying to get into the unit. It was very very noisy and breaking the aluminum vent away from the wall. By the end of the trip it was sticking it's head through to look at us. I did not use the washer/dryer as I kept thinking the vent must be full of bird poop. The lady at the front desk was very nice during check-in and helped us with the TV which took a minimum of 10 minutes to come up. Sorry to report this as we've had many wonderful visits to this resort and it's sister property, Kahana Sands. But this trip was a bitter disappointment."
