"We really enjoyed our stay at the Hopping Hare. Service was exemplary, room was clean and plenty big enough. Restaurant food was a notch above your usual pub grub and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. We stayed one night for a World Cup rugby match at Franklins Gardens which was within walking distance. "

"Recently thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at The Old Vicarage, having visited in Sept 2025, I immediately booked again for Feb 2026. Once again the location was idyllic, our room and shared kitchen were excellent. The owners Gerry & Patricia were fabulous hosts, the dogs Frank & Elsa were very welcoming and the kitten Jennifer was lovely. The breakfasts, both full English and scrambled eggs with salmon were outstanding. In the afternoon we visited the nearby Heart of the Shires Shopping...

"Very comfortable stay & a friendly atmosphere. A fabulous homemade granola, fruit & yoghurt bowl for our breakfast. Plenty of other choices, but we went for it each morning. Hope to be back next year at the same time to meet with friends for The Veteran-Cycle Club Luncheon."

"Plenty of parking available. Had a very nice welcome from the owner who made me feel extremely welcome and that nothing was a an inconvenience. Very friendly and approachable. My room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable. Shower was amazing, instant hot water and a good water flow. A very peaceful, relaxing evening, could not fault anything."

"We always stay here now when visiting friends and family in the East Midlands. We have tried other hotels in the area from Bedford up to Leicester but this is ideal for location, food, service and a lovely reservoir to walk our Saluki! Parking is safe and ample, breakfasts are amazing, staff are helpful, welcoming and polite. Rooms are tidy, comfortable and spacious . The location is 5 mins off M1 but soooo quiet, 1 minute off A45 or A428 means every direction is accessible. "
